Lunching On Thames

Here is where I had lunch today;

Derryth's firm was kind enough to invite me to join them for lunch today. We had a lovely Indian lunch on the Thames accompanied by copious amounts of wine. What a great way to spend the Friday afternoon before a long weekend!

Richmond Hill TW9 1QJ

Sally and I were on the way to the Racing Page to meet up with Brian and the usual crew to have some initial engagement drinks (I forsee many more celebrations!), we decided to take the short cut behind Richmond Theatre and crap celebrity spotting number #2 was born.

Stephanie Beacham. She is doing a play at Richmond Theatre with the guy who played James Herriot in All Creatures Great and Small. Not Joan Collins but I believe she did play her sister on Dynasty or as they say in the UK, Di-nass-tee. Also, didn't she play Dylan's mother on Beverly Hills 90210?

I AM ACTING. CAN'T YOU SEE I AM ACTING.

Was everyone deaf in the late 70's and early 80's or did we think that the person who yelled the loudest was the best actor?

ITV3 shows tons of old shows - Ironside, Quantum Leap, Quincey, Cagney & Lacey and more. I must admit that I have spent more time than I should watching it and want to know what acting school Jack Klugman, Sharon Gless and Tyne Daly attended. I presume it was The Lee Strasberg School of Yell-Acting as they seemed determined to ensure that no one needed a TV to hear their performances.

I think Al Pacino is probably the most famous graduate of this course.

Argentina Day

National Flag Day in Argentina is actually 18 June but I celebrated yesterday. I had the best meal last night at the Gaucho Grill, the Argentine steak house I mentioned yesterday. The food was gorgeous, the wine was excellent, the restaurant was beautiful and the staff were lovely. Make me take you there when you visit (except Angela - it is not so much for the vegetarians). As I also mentioned, I had a conference call for work with our partner in Argentina and to make the day complete, I bought Argetinian wine to celebrate Becca's birthday this evening. Her birthday was actually yesterday so I guess it will be a belated one for Becca and a real one for Aidan.

Baby Brown

How cute is he? Aidan was born this morning. Poor Chris was in labour for approximately 30 hours. He better be a good baby!

I'm Freezing My Wit Off

The weather here has turned and we are now experiencing a proper English spring - cold gray and rainy. I realise it is much colder in Canada than here but that doesn't comfort me. So, I am revelling in the small things;

  • Latest baby born - Ella Stephen
  • Awaiting news on Baby Brown, poor Chris has been in labour for over 24 hours
  • Am going to dinner at an Argentine steak house and on a completely unrelated matter had a conference call with our partner in Argentina today.
  • Channel 5 has started showing The Fall Guy! It is total crap but ROCKS.
  • Derryth has some amazing pictures from her trip to South Africa.
  • Today is Becca's birthday. I baked her some birthday cupcakes.
  • I am getting my hair cut on Saturday.
Mmmmmm, how mundane am I? Hopefully my next update will be more interesting.

MacKinnon, Christine MacKinnon

Sal and I got on the train on Friday eveining headed for Clapham for Becca's Hen Do (anoter story for another time) only to find ourselves sharing a carriage with Miss Moneypenny.

Not exactly a George Clooney caliber celebrity spot but as I only seen to see B lister, this one was not too bad.
